Former Crown Inn, Romford
We have been successful with our Planning Appeal against a planning committee refusal for the creation of 24 apartments in Romford.
Our proposal was on the site of the Crown Inn Public House, a locally listed building, and included the retention of the existing building and the provision of two `wings` having a contemporary aesthetic. Mindful of the historic status of the existing building, the design was carefully composed to ensure the extensions were subservient and contrasting to the host building. The design approach and scheme layout was commended and fully supported by the planning department.
Unfortunately, the regulatory planning committee voted against the recommendation of the planning department and refused the application.
ATP prepared the appeal documentation and provided the Statement of Case. We are now discharging pre-commencement conditions and gearing up for the production of construction drawings.
