Phase 1 works at Chingford Foundation School were completed in time for the beginning of the Autumn term.
The project involved the remodelling and extending of existing staff facilities and the main entrance whilst the school was in occupation during the summer term months. New facilities include a large open plan staff room, staff toilet and showers, senior management offices, administration rooms, meeting room and a remodelled main entrance. Staff facilities were extended outside into the courtyard providing timber decking, a soft landscaped area, a fish pond and the essential bar-b-que.
The project also provides for 3 additional classrooms at first floor and the remodelling of a teaching wing.
The £1M project is the first of 2 phases being carried out by main contractor Jerram Falkus, the early stages of the second phase sports hall being the subject of our last months news.
