Date Posted: 10/04/06

Demolition of existing warehouse buildings began in March on the former Maryland Works to make way for ‘Stratford Eye’, a mixed use residential and commercial development. The scheme includes for a 20 storey residential tower linked to 5 / 6 storey ‘warehouse style’ apartment buildings providing 160 apartments and a 6 storey office building providing 4000msq of accommodation. Piles have been bored for the residential tower and now, following the relocation of railway gantries, demolition work has commenced to enable the casting of the foundations for the remaining apartment buildings and office.
